Taking a dig at AAP-SAD (Taksali) alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Punjab, Congress leader and Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday dismissed the alliance as “of no consequence”.
Captain Singh reiterating that the forging an alliance is their prerogative but Congress will go solo and it did not require any alliance in Punjab for the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Punjab Congress is fully ready for the polls and is well placed to win on its own, he said.
“In a democracy, it is the performance of the government that matters and people vote for those whom they see working for their welfare,” Captain Singh remarked.
The AAP-SAD (Taksali) alliance had come after talks for a possible alliance between the Akali Dal Taksali and Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA) “failed” over the sharing of seats.
