Amid criticism from opposition parties against BJP for trying to draw political mileage from ongoing conflict Indo-Pak conflict, differences surfaced in the ruling saffron outfit with Union Minister Gen (Retd) V K Singh slamming party colleague B S Yedddyurappa for making political statements on India’s aerial strike,

“BSY ji (Yedddyurappa), I beg to differ. We stand as one nation, action taken by our government is to safeguard our nation and ensure safety of our citizens, not to win a few extra seats,”

Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said the India’s air strike on Jaish-e-Mohammad terror group inside Pakistan will prove to be a decisive factor for the BJP’s victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to reporters prior to attending a meet of the BJP party workers in Davangere and Chitradurga, Yeddyurappa said, “The assault on Pakistan will prove to be decisive for our victory across the country with the Modi wave catching fervour among the youngsters celebrating the attack on the neighboring state and avenging the 44 CRPF jawans killed in Pulwama. I am certain that in Karnataka also we will be able to pull off at least 22 seats after yesterday’s attack and today morning’s effort in bringing down the Pakistan airplane at the border.”
