Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the coordination committee of the Congress and JD(S) failed to reach the consensus on seat sharing formula in Karnataka.
The deadlock between the two parties now will make the intervention of Congress president Rahul Gandhi inevitable and to solve the seat sharing issues, he will soon hold a meeting with JD(S) chief HD Deve Gowda is expected soon.
This is the fourth meeting between the two parties in the past month to hammer out a solution on the issue.
As per the sources, the JD(S) wants to field its candidates on 12 out of the total 28 Lok Sabha seats including Tumakuru and Chikkaballapur. These two seats are currently held by Congress.
Reportedly, Congress has offered just six seats to the JD(S) which is not acceptable to the party.
