DMK files a petition to stop AIADMK’s special assistance to BPL families ahead of the Lok Sabha elections

The Opposition DMK in Tamil Nadu has moved the Election Commission seeking to stop distribution of Rs 2,000 special assistance to BPL families by the ruling AIADMK.

The DMK has also demanded legal action against them.

In a DMK Organisation Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP R S Bharathi in his petition submitted to the Chief Election Commissioner, contended that the special assistant to the BPL families by the ruling party was an attempt to woo the voters and getting electoral benefits in the coming Lok Sabha polls.
