Shah Faesal, the Former Indian Administrative Officer from Jammu & Kashmir on Monday announced to launch a new political party.
“I want to participate in elections. We are not going to join any existing party, we are going to start our own party,” the ex-IAS officer said.
The first civil services topper from Kashmir, Faesal had resigned from the IAS on January 9 to protest against “unabated killings” and “marginalisation of Indian Muslims” in Kashmir.
In a statement, Faesal told that he has already applied to the Election Commission for the registration of his political party adding that since the name of his party will need the approval of the EC, he will need some more time before he could reveal the name to the public.
Reacting on withdrawal of the security cover to several local politicians including him in the valley, Shah said,
“It reflects some kind of thoughtlessness within the government. It’s like pressing the wrong buttons.”
