State narrative to blame Hurriyat for all the troubles is sheer propaganda, the fact remains that Kashmir movement is not associated to any individual or organisation but it a mass peoples movement for the realization of their genuine political aspirations.
Want to tell New Delhi that by removing security cover, booking resistance leaders by NIA and ED, incarcerating and caging and harassing them, leadership will not change its stance as our stand is based on principles and truth that people of Kashmir have to be given their legitimate right
Strongly Condemn the nocturnal crackdown on Jamat e Islami leadership and cadres and the arrest of Yasin Malik. Such illegal and coercive measures against Kashmiri’s are futile and will not change realities on ground. Force and intimidation will only worsen the situation.
The Jammu Kashmir police have detained separatist leader Yasin Malik as well as dozens of Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) leaders in several parts of the Valley. The detentions come ahead of the SC hearing on Article 35A.
Malik was detained from his residence in central Srinagar late Friday evening. The J&K Police confirmed that Malik has been kept under detention at the Kothi Bath police station. He is part of the Joint Resistance Leadership in J&K alongside Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
“In the past 24 hours, Hurriyat leaders & workers of Jamaat organisation have been arrested. Fail to understand such an arbitrary move which will only precipitate matters in J&K. Under what legal grounds are their arrests justified? You can imprison a person but not his ideas.” Mehbooba Mufti has said
